Brian was born and raised in the deep South, splitting his childhood between Georgia and South Carolina. When he heard the Gospel as a pre-teen, he repented and believed in Christ. He became serious about his faith in middle school, sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with friends and classmates. As he consistently saw and heard the faithful preaching of his pastor in Columbia, he began to feel a strong, growing desire to preach to and teach God’s people. This call to ministry intensified during multiple overseas mission trips and his leading community groups after college.
In 2010, he and his family moved to Louisville, KY to pursue a Masters of Divinity at Southern. He entered the research doctoral (Ph.D.) program in Systematic Theology (under Dr. Stephen Wellum) in 2013 with the desire to pastor and use his gifts, training, and academic degrees to faithfully teach God’s people, as well as help train future pastors, both here and overseas. Brian currently serves as the Pastor of Vision at Holy City Church.
Brian is married to Elise, and they have 6 children: Elijah, Ella Grace, Julia, Aidan, Winton, and Anna.
Originally from Ohio, Mark was converted in 1998 as a freshman at the College of Charleston. After being very active in campus ministry and in the membership of East Cooper Baptist Church, Mark and Libbie, moved to Louisville to attend the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. During this time God brought loving discipline into their lives, and led them through trials designed to humble them, teach them the glory of the gospel afresh, and to experience its power to keep and sanctify!
In 2014, Mark and his family left Louisville. Through preaching, teaching, counseling and discipleship, Mark’s ambition is to see the Lord advance His Kingdom and build up His church through the ministry of the Word until they are mature in Christ (Col. 1:28) and live as a city on the hill with a compelling testimony to a lost world. Mark currently serves as the Pastor of Discipleship at Holy City Church.
Mark is married to Libbie, and they have 5 children: Ellie Grace, Lydia, Simeon, Anna Skye, and Eden.
Drew was born to Christian parents and raised in an evangelical church in southern Minnesota. It became evident that Drew needed to make decisions of repentance and faith-motivated obedience, and in Junior High, he forsook sin and was baptized. In Drew’s early twenties, a significant shift took place that helped him move from a self-righteous reliance upon obedience towards a more humble reliance upon the righteousness of Christ.
The influences of two youth pastors played a significant role in his call to ministry. After 10 years of following their examples as a part-time paid intern (2.5 years), and as a full-time youth pastor (8 years), the Lord gave Drew gifts and new desires to serve the entire church body through preaching, teaching, and leading. Drew completed his formal theological education at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2016, and currently serves as the Pastor of Care at Holy City Church.
Drew is married to Bekah, and they have 4 children: Ella, Weston, Hudson, and Lydia
